The Stranger Draft 3

After extra editing and a few changes I have produced a third draft for my short film 'The Stranger'. It is embedded below:



Reflective Comment:
With the film now getting closer to being finished, my next plan is to get some feedback on it which will then mean I have feedback on all three of my tasks making my evaluation questions easier to talk about and moving me further forward. As a whole, I am very happy with my film and as you can from my previous drafts on my blog (here and here), it has come a long way and many things have been changed and edited to bring it all together.

Initial Footage/Test Footage

Below is a video I uploaded to Vimeo from iMovie. It is some initial footage I did with Heidi playing the role of Clare. The purpose of this filming was to give her some practise with the role and to see how she felt playing it. Overall, this small amount of footage fits together well and I think it went really well. There are some black outs during it where some footage is missing, but as this was only test footage it isn't really too much of a problem.



Reflective Comment: 
This test footage was very useful as it gave both me and Heidi some practise with our roles. For me, it allowed me time to get used to the phone I am filming with and also the tripod positioning in my room. For Heidi, it gave her some practise with acting and gave me confidence that she can perform as the character of Clare well. Full filming will be completed soon, with a date soon to be set.

Pitch Presentation

I created a presentation on Emaze that gives an overview of my starting ideas for my A2 task. It talks about what brief I've decided to do and some initial ideas that I have.


Here you can see me presenting my pitch to the rest of the class and answering some questions on certain aspects of my film and also developing the plot.

Reflective Comment:
This task was a good starting point for my ideas. The Emaze I created allowed me to go through each part of my production and talk about what I'd thought about. Presenting it to the class was also useful in terms of feedback, as you can see from the video I was asked questions but my teacher and classmates which allowed me to talk about developing some of my ideas and also considering some of the problems I may have. To improve this task, I'd of liked to have gone into more detail about the plot of my film, however at the time I wasn't entirely sure about what I wanted to include, but as you can see from the video, I did talk to the class about some ideas I'd had prior to presenting my slideshow.
